Retail investors are bullish about the stock market next year after achieving the best returns in three years over the past 12 months, according to a survey published yesterday.

More than 3,000 retail investors took part in the joint survey begun late last month by the Association of International Accountants (AIA) and financial services firm Hantec Investment Holdings.

Eighty per cent said they had made money from stock investments this year, compared with 71 per cent last year and 31 per cent in 2002, when the Hang Seng Index fell 18 per cent.
