The 2004 winners of The World Piano Competition, held each summer in Cincinnati, include Gold Medalist Ekaterina Mechetina, 26, who received The Robison Foundation/B. Robison Sporck-Stegmaier Award of a New York Recital at Alice Tully Hall, valued at $35,000, and The Claire Phillips Award of $10,000. Mechetina, from Moscow, is a postgraduate student at the Moscow State Conservatory and studies with Sergey Dorensky.
