Singer Erin Bode is an exceptionally lovely young woman, but by devoting so much real estate to a celebration of her looks (the packaging of this compact disc includes no fewer than twenty-one separate photographs of the artist), the MaxJazz label is taking a real risk. The risk, of course, is that potential listeners will assume that Bode's presence on the label has more to do with her cheekbones and her liquid brown eyes than her talent. The first track on this, her second album dispels that idea quite thoroughly, though, and the program that follows keeps it at bay.
