Taipei, Dec. 16, 2004 (CENS)--Macronix International Co., Ltd. is expected to become a strategic partner soon of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Fujitsu Ltd. in their newly formed alliance aiming at developing mirror flash-memory technology. Macronix of Taiwan specializes in flash-memory manufacturing. Taiwan's industry watchers analyzed that Spansion is likely to choose Macronix as its partner based on consideration that the Taiwanese chipmaker is well equipped with production factories including 180-mm, 200-mm and 300-mm wafer tools, patented technologies and advanced processes.
