LAE, PNG, Dec 16 Asia Pulse - After talks in PNG yesterday, Foreign Minister Alexander Downer left the way open to extend the deployment of police and other Australian officials in PNG beyond the agreed five-year term.

Enhanced policing and defence cooperation were high on the agenda yesterday, as Mr Downer led six other federal ministers in talks with their PNG counterparts in the PNG city of Lae.

A total of 18 ministers attended the 16th Australia-PNG Ministerial Forum in the country's second largest city with Australia's $A900 million ($US686.7 million) five-year Enhanced Cooperation Program (ECP) in …
