Almost all new housing in a Westcountry National Park will be available solely for needy local people, it has been revealed.
Exmoor National Park has made the announcement ahead of the publication of its local plan next year.
The park has been working on the scheme for the last four years and it has already been given approval by a local government inspector.
The news follows the announcement that a similar scheme for the Yorkshire Dales has been backed by a Government planning inquiry in the north east.
The radical plan was drawn up by all-party and independent members of the National Park authority. …
