Sep. 7--WARETOWN -- School officials are pushing forward with plans for a Sept. 26 referendum after discussing the district's needs in a meeting with Mayor Daniel Van Pelt and various state officials Tuesday.

School officials remain unswayed by Van Pelt's contention Waretown's state-approved Town Center designation could help officials garner state funds for a new school for less than the $13.5 million price tag attached to the district's two-question referendum.

The meeting, which included members of the state Department of Education and the Office of Smart Growth, was attended by Superintendent Donald Bochicchio and board…
