ARCADIA -- With so many running backs on the DeSoto County High football team doubling up on defense, Gary Morton wanted to keep a fresh backfield on offense.
So the Bulldogs' coach took the wraps off Jerrell Ezell.
Ezell, a sophomore seeing his first varsity playing time, gained a team-high 66 yards and scored the first two touchdowns in DeSoto's 36-7 rout of Lemon Bay High in a nondistrict game Friday at Bulldog Field.
