LOS ANGELES - "I've come to this party as a winner and a loser - and it feels better as a winner," Kiefer Sutherland told Emmy nominee (and loser) Oliver Platt at Fox's after party Sunday night at Spago. Sutherland didn't show up to the mellow, platinum-themed party until late (perhaps, as he promised on air, he was having dinner with his father, Donald) and held court in the same back booth as last year.
Also in attendance were Brian Grazer, Rebecca Gayheart, Denis Leary and Emily Deschanel, who ogled Wentworth Miller, saying, "I am going to get in trouble with my boyfriend." Jaime Pressly changed out of her custom Badgley Mischka gown into a short Collette Dinnigan number because, "It's an easier dress to party in. Trains and parties do not mix well." Just one of the many dangers of the Emmys.
When Dolce & Gabbana-clad winner Jeremy Piven walked down the red carpet at the HBO party at Pacific Design Center, he declared all was "fantastic" except for a little cut on his chin. He got it earlier when trying to kiss his Emmy, but "impaled myself with it instead." Once inside the pink tent, Piven felt no pain. He sipped pink Mot & Chandon bubbly and passed his trophy around.
"Entourage" co-star Debi Mazar smirked, "I don't think it's going to mean anything, except maybe Piven's going to get a bigger trailer!"
