Recognizing the importance of assisting families and troops in examining their own emotional states, and to decrease the stigma associated with seeking help for emotional problems, officials at Screening for Mental Health Inc., say they are pleased to provide the military with a voluntary mental health screening program.
Department of Defense officials foreseeing statistics like the data recently released in this month's JAMA article (see story, page 1), contacted Screening for Mental Health and asked the Wellesley Hills, Mass.-based nonprofit organization to provide a voluntary mental heath screening program for military personnel and their family members, said officials.
