The speaker list adds to this glow Elaine Chao, US Secretary of Labor, and Sean Connaughton, the newly anointed US Maritime Administrator.
Ms Chao, the keynote speaker, is a Bush insider and a highly qualified private sector as well as government official.
Mr Connaughton, whose appointment follows the Dubai-infected debacle of the previous nominee, David Sanborn, has already caught the media's eye as an even-keeled, centrist Republican nominee who might not be a favourite with the right wing of his own party.
