Byline: How to bring more women into leadership in the maritime world, choosing a personality of the year and the launch of a new website will be highlights of this year's gathering, writes Marita Scott, president of Wista International
THE foreword in Wista's annual report reads: Wista should be a major player in attracting more women into the industry and in supporting women in management positions.
With networking and mentoring in focus we can enhance members' competence and empower career success.
One of our objectives for the coming year is to become more visible in the industry and to work closely together with relevant maritime bodies to bring competence to the maritime sector.
Wista is established in 17 countries and has 617 international, individual members.
With an increase of 20% in individual membership last year, we believe that our goal of 1,000 individual members could be reached within a two-year period.
