(From Lloyds List)
TWO officer cadets from the Philippines fell about laughing when the master donned a bunny suit and the bosun wore an Easter egg.
Such were the lighter moments for Sherrain Dominguez and Michelle Tam on one of the toughest voyages of their career.
The duo are among the most promising members in the merchant fleet of Northern Marine, part of the Stena group and are still revelling in their memories of sail of a different kind.
Most recently, they have been on duty on the Stena Arctica, following earlier stints on the Stena Forwarder and Stena Contest, which means they have served on both roll-on, roll-off and bulk carriers.
Managers have filed above average reports from al the ships they have sailed on and now Ms Dominguez and Ms Tam have filed enthusiastic reports on their exhausting but thrilling adventure on the famed sail training vessel Stavros S Niarchos.
The duo arrived one fine April day at Bridgetown, Barbados, feeling nervous and the first call from the chief mate was to climb the yards.
