MANILA, Sept 1 Asia Pulse - The Philippine government will launch a tourism recovery program in the province of Guimaras starting this month to address the decline in number of tourists visiting the island due to the recent oil spill incident.

The program will consist of travel exchange and travel mart which will showcase the provinces tourism establishments, products and service.

A familiarization tour for media and travel trade is also slated for the months of October and November.

Also part of the marketing efforts are the New-Zealand-Department of Tourism (NZ-DOT) ecotourism programs wherein skills training on business operations and management and community market linkage through travel and trade operators will be conducted this year.
