Q When starting and closing Microsoft Word, a message box appears headed Microsoft Visual Basic, which states "The macros in this project are disabled. Please refer to the online help or documentation of the host application to determine how to enable macros". I don't use macros or Visual Basic.

A Without knowing what the macros are, it's impossible to say whether they're required, malicious or part of something you never use. Use an up-to-date virus checker to rule out the possibility they are harmful as a first step. You can then enable macro support or remove the macros.
