An interesting sidelight to the annual secret meeting of the super-elite Bilderberg group in Ottawa June 8-11 (see article on page 19) is the unusually large contingent of attendees from Turkey. Does this signal a major push from the Bilderbergers for Turkey's accession to membership in the European Union? Most likely yes, as the Bilderberg-EU drumbeat for Turkey's EU membership has been increasing, despite the fact that opinion polls show overwhelming opposition by citizens of EU countries to the move.

EU voters know that if Turkey is admitted, three major negatives will occur in rapid order: 1) millions of poor Turks will flood into Europe to compete for jobs and to take advantage of social welfare programs; 2) following the pattern of EU "enlargement" with other countries, billions of euros in EU development aid will flow into Turkey; and 3) Europe's increasingly aggressive Muslim population will dramatically increase.
