Jayne Pickering was bedazzled by New York. Every time the British stylist came for a visit, fabulous jewelry sparkled across the city as far as her eye could see: uptown at Barneys, over on the West Side at Ten Thousand Things, way downtown in SoHo at that ne plus ultra of jewel stores, Ted Muehling. And then, sadly, she would have to go home to London and the spell would break; nowhere could she find the quirky pieces that so entranced her in Manhattan. So she did what any self-respecting fashion person with a
