While the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics continues to philosophically oppose the use of male practice players, the committee suggested some guidelines if coaches do choose to have males practice with female teams.
The debate comes from the practice of using males to scrimmage with female teams, which some coaches believe enhances competition for the females athletes.
