Alana Schutt is a college student who lives on Martha Lake in Snohomish County, Washington. On May 31, Alana was watching three boaters out on the lake, when she decided that something didn't seem quite right.
"I could just see their boat was very full of water," Alana told Seattle's KOMO news.
Alana jumped into her paddle boat, and headed toward the struggling boaters. As she got closer, she noticed two men bailing water out of their boat and a third man, outside the boat, who was struggling to keep his head above water.
"I noticed he was much bigger than I thought he was," the heroic student told reporters. "He was yelling, 'I'm not going to make it, hurry.'"
Amazingly, Alana was able to pull the 250-pound man into her boat. She then paddled toward the other two men who were by that time also in the water and helped them get back ...
