Alcohol is now on a legal par with date-rape drugs as an aggravating factor in sexual assault in Wisconsin, home of the serious party school, the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
The change in law means that victims who are very intoxicated during a sexual encounter can be judged incapable of giving consent, triggering a second-degree sexual assault charge. Previously under the law, a victim had to be unconscious to be deemed incapable of consent.
