McRon Thompson of Richmond, Texas, stopped at a car wash to clean his vehicle at about 1 a.m. on May 26, shortly after leaving work. While he was cleaning his car, he noticed three vehicles slowly cruise through the parking lot. When he noticed the cars slowly proceeding past for a second time, he got a gun from the car, loaded it, and put it in his pocket.
Minutes later, an occupant of one of the cars, a 15-year-old wearing a bandanna and carrying a gun, got the drop on Thompson and forced him at gunpoint into the rear seat of his own car. Then another young man, identified as Joshua Payne, got into the driver's seat ...
