The National Council of La Raza announced on June 21 the stellar political lineup of speakers for its annual national conference in July. Leading the listed notables are former President Bill Clinton and Karl Rove, President Bush's political strategist and deputy chief of staff. The La Raza press release begins with the following paragraph:
The National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the largest national Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S., announced today that former President Bill Clinton, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove, and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa are among the confirmed speakers for the upcoming NCLR Annual Conference which will be held July 8-11 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, CA.
Other notable speakers include: Senator Sam Brownback (R-Kan.); Congresswoman Hilda Solis (D-Calif.); and Walt Disney Company President and CEO Bob Iger. Bank of America is the title sponsor of the NCLR Annual Conference.
