Beth Gigante Klingenstein, NCTM, of Valley City, North Dakota, is the author of A Business Guide for the Music Teacher. She has 28 years' experience as an independent music teacher and has been on the music faculty of Valley City State University for 11 years. Klingenstein, is a member of both the North Dakota MTA and the Valley City MTA. She served as the Southern Division's Independent Music Teachers Forum chair and on MTNA's National Advisory Committee for the Independent Music Teachers Forum. She has written numerous articles for American Music Teacher magazine, including the "It's All Your Business" column, and has given lectures and presentations at MTNA National Conferences.

Frances Larimer, NCTM, of Evanston, Illlinois, has been active in MTNA for many years. From 1975-1979, she served as national group piano chair for MTNA, and she now serves on the American Music Teacher Editorial Committee. She frequently gives presentations at national conferences and educational institutions throughout the country. Larimer, piano professor emerita, created the master's and doctoral degree programs in piano performance and pedagogy at Northwestern University and served as director of these programs for more than 25 years. Prior to this, she established the group piano programs for music and non-music majors and has taught undergraduate and graduate piano majors at Northwestern.

Iris Manus, of Van Nuys, California, is vice president and executive producer of Alfred Publishing Co., Inc. She began working at the company part-time while in high school; at that time, she met Morty Manus--sweeping hito off his feet--and the rest is history. Through the years, Iris continued to work part-time at Alfred in a variety of capacities, always providing leadership for the company in many areas. She began work on a full-time basis in the late 1960s as executive producer and a member of upper management. With her outstanding personality, Iris sets the tone for the personality for all of Alfred.

Morty Manus, of Van Nuys, California, is president of Alfred Publishing Co., Inc. A clarinetist and pianist, he received extensive musical training in his youth. In 1952, after receiving a business degree from City College of New York, Morty joined Alfred and became president after his father and Alfred owner, Sam Manus, retired. Drawing upon his music experience, he oversaw the development of an instructional series for accordion, followed by books for guitar and piano. Morty is the author and editor of numerous titles in Alfred's catalog, including many books in Alfred's Basic Piano Library.

Ann Matteson, NCTM, of College Park, Maryland, is Maryland State MTA Certification vice president. She was on the MTNA National Certification Commission for four years and has been on the MSMTA Board of Directors since 1975, serving as president for four years. Since 1979, Matteson has championed a piano examination program to give private piano students high school credit. She was active on the Eastern Division Board for eight years and served many positions in two local associations. In 1999, Matteson was awarded an MSMTA Honorary Life Membership. She maintains a piano studio in College Park.

Richard Morris, of Cincinnati, Ohio, has held numerous positions with MTNA throughout his career, including national president from 1989 to 1991, as well as East Central Division president and national vice president of conventions. He also was president of the Ohio MTA and Missouri MTA. Morris earned B.M. and M.M. degrees from Indiana University. In 1960, he became piano department chair at the University of Missouri, and in 1976, Morris became the chair of the piano department at the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music. In 2004, he retired from the University of Cincinnati.
