Cheryl Norman's, NCTM, term as president of the Utah MTA came to a close in June. She has left a legacy that our association should take great pride in. Under her leadership, more than 20 members will add NCTM to their title. Before taking office in 2004, Norman made contact with all the Utah NCTMs requesting a CD of one of their performances, either a college performance or certification recital, then compiled a CD of the performances and distributed them to all board members and chapter presidents to use as a recruitment tool. Norman promoted the program at every meeting and event she attended and worked closely with Emily Jorgensen, NCTM, Utah's state certification chair, to coordinate recruitment efforts.
