James McAvoy's stock continues to rise with word that the feisty Scot has been cast as the lead in Universal Picture's sci-fi project Wanted. The story follows a youngster who discovers his estranged father was an assassin and joins a shadowy group of killers when his father is murdered. Russian film-maker Timur Bekmambetov makes his English-language debut following his hit fantasy saga Night Watch. McAvoy recently starred as Mr Tumnus in The Chronicles of Narnia, and his upcoming credits include The Last King of Scotland, Penelope, and Starter For Ten.
