Aug. 18--Want a good dog? Look no further than Doggies.
Located in northwest McAllen, this restaurant specializes in hotdogs and Polish sausages including a variety of toppings. These toppings range from the traditional -- sauerkraut, mayonnaise and tomato or cheese and chili -- all the way to the exotic, with diced fresh sport peppers, avocado, tomato or onions, roasted pineapple, avocado, tomato and onions. The dogs also are available as part of a combo package that includes fries (or onion rings for 50 cents more), soda and a cheese empanada for $4.99 for the regular size or $5.99 for the jumbo size.
