Mar. 4--DURHAM, N.C. -- Driving to Raleigh to shop at Target had become part of Robin Castillo's weekly routine.
"I'll find reasons to go," the Durham mother said. "If I need home stuff, I'll drive over there to see what's new."
So when the Bull City's first SuperTarget opened Wednesday at a location near her children's school, Castillo knew her budget was doomed.
"I'm worried about how often I'll be here," she said, looking at the merchandise -- already topping $200 -- in her cart. The summer quilt, throw pillows and pillow shams match her current comforter, which she thought had been discontinued, she explained.
"It's like going to Costco," she said. "I can't seem to get out under $100."
Castillo, who discovered Target while living in Seattle, was supposed to wait to see the new store with a friend on Sunday. But when the retailer opened earlier than expected, she couldn't resist "just looking."
