SOFIA, Bulgaria, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Bulgaria's parliament has passed incentive laws aimed at increasing the number of babies born in the country.
In an effort to stop a demographic drop, lawmakers worked out new measures to extend pregnancy leave from the current 135 days to 315 days, during which a new mother will receive 90 percent of her monthly salary, Belgrade's Beta news agency reported.
After giving birth, mothers will be entitled to a fully paid maternity leave for the next 12 months.
