PAKISTAN BOOKS BELOW-TARGET REVENUE COLLECTION IN MARCH

ISLAMABAD - The revenue collection has declined by 8.97 per cent to Rs39.958 billion (US$695 million) during March against the month's budgeted target of Rs43.9 billion.

The official final figures released by the Central Board of Revenue (CBR) showed that the revenue registered a growth of only 3.5 per cent during the month under review when compared with the collection of Rs38.583 billion over the same month last year.

INDONESIA, CHILE SIGN ECONOMIC, TECHNICAL COOPERATION PACT

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Megawati Soekarnoputri and visiting Chilean President Ricardo Lagos Escobar at their meeting at the Merdeka Palace here on Wednesday agreed to forge bilateral cooperation in economic and technical fields.

At the meeting, President Megawati was accompanied by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Dorodjatun Kuntjoro-Jakti and Fisheries and Marine Resources Minister Rokhmin Dahuri.
