Byline: Expansion includes 6,000 teu newbuilds from China Shipbuilding and smaller ships from Singapore's Jurong yard

Traditionally one of Asia's largest intra-Asian operators, Wan Hai Lines is looking to spread its shipping links further with the arrival, starting next year, of a series of 6,000 teu vessels.

The move into larger vessels will come some 42 years after the firm was founded in 1965 as a specialist shipping company transporting logs between Taiwan, Japan and Southeast Asia. The move into containerised transport came 30 years ago in 1976.
