First of all, we want to remind you that there's only about a week left to submit your nomination for this year's Transportation Leaders of Florida rendition. Call, write or e-mail your nomination for that special someone who has provided years of dedication to the industry. And include a couple of specific examples of recent activities that have demonstrated exceptional qualities. The deadline is Aug. 14, or so.

Because we often rant here about governmental demands and unfunded mandates that afflict the business community, it is only appropriate that we highlight lawmakers who seem to have a good idea this election year.
