Chris Jenks runs No. 4 this year, but he'd much rather have the No. 1 plate. Last year with the now-defunct Four-Stroke Tech team, Jenks had what can be described as his breakthrough season. Everything clicked and he started finishing at the top consistently. This included an overall win at the Yadkinville GNCC.

This year, he wants more improvement. But, as he is finding out, once you crack the top five, it is a lot harder to advance. The talent at the top is extremely strong this year. With Chris Borich and Bill Ballance ahead of him, he will have to work even harder to see the same types of improvements. Jenks says he is up to the challenge and will take the season one round at a time.

Jenks proved he has what it takes to run out front, winning Round 6 at the Showtime GNCC in Missouri. Jenks held off Borich and Ballance for his first overall of the season.
