Crowd pleaser
OVERCROWDING at Norsk Hydro's Ormen Lange gas project in mid-Norway has got so bad that the company has had to resort to hiring a tourist ship to house everyone.
An unexpected rise in the number of people scheduled to work at the onshore processing plant in Nyhamna, near Molde, means there will not be enough beds this autumn.
The Norwegian energy company is discussing a charter with the Hurtigruten Group for a 300-bed tourist ship that will be docked at the huge onshore construction site.
At Nyhamna the existing accommodation acts as a cheap hotel for the site workers, but with more being drafted in from October the hotel ship is required.
It sounds as if it is the latest episode of Dr Who but 'Invaders from the Sea' is the spine-chilling result of a co-operation between the BBC and the International Maritime Organization.
