Info@SEA has launched a new internet-based service to deliver met-ocean data to the shipping industry, initially to improve shipping operations in the Malacca Strait.
The product Straitsforecast will provide high-quality information and risk-management tools to enhance efficiency, safety, security and environmental performance in the busy waters of the Port of Singapore.
Info@SEA is a joint venture established by BMT Asia Pacific, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and DHI Water ' Environment.
As an online planning tool for ships, berths and terminal operators, Straitsforecast will provide high-resolution forecasts of the region's complex tidal current flow patterns and tidal data.
It offers assistance to ships navigating through complex currents and terminals to establish safe berthing windows in strong tidal flows and enables ports to expand the use of their berths, hence delivering a greater return on investment.
