TNT feeling healthy
DUTCH express, mail and logistics operator TNT put in a healthy performance with operating income (ebit) up 10.7% to €342m ($436m) in the second quarter, writes Helen Hill in Amsterdam.
Revenue was up 5.8% to € 2.64bn and there was growth in all its divisions.
TNT said the signing for the logistics sell-off was now expected to take place during the third quarter.
Operating income for the logistics division tumbled 20.6% to € 27m, with TNT blaming the costs related to its sale.
Total revenues were also down because of the already completed sale of the French logistics operations.
