Byline: Latest acquisitions to be plied on spot market, writes Tony Gray
Suezmax specialist Nordic American Tanker Shipping has raised its spending in the past two weeks to almost $250m with a deal to buy another two vessels.
The company said the eleventh and twelfth suezmaxes to be joining its fleet were built in 2002 and 2003 by South Korea's Samsung.
They are sisterships to the company's tenth vessel, whose acquisition was announced on July 17.
The aggregate price for the three sisterships was $246m, the company said.
Nordic American did not name the vessels but the first purchase of the three was reported by shipbrokers to be Dynacom's Glyfada Spirit.
