SHE failed to break the Irish record again but two more good performances in Germany yesterday will encourage Derval O'Rourke just a week away from the European Championships.
Just a week after breaking 12.9 seconds for the first time, O'Rourke broke that benchmark again twice in Nuremburg yesterday. She ran 12.89 when third in her heat and then knocked another two hundredths off it when fifth in the final.
Both were short of her new Irish record (12.85), a time run yesterday by the consistent German Kirsten Bolm.
