SOME 30 broadcasters were notified that they breached advertising and sponsorship codes in 2005, with most breaches relating to betting services

According to the annual report of the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI), 18 of the 28 commercial radio stations also breached the 10-minute hourly limit on ads.

The BCI, which licenses 54 commercial and community radio services as well as TV stations, said it issued a notice to all contractors about ads for bookies, due to the high level of breaches.
