GUY CARPENTER NAMES JOHN CARROLL AS BROKING HEAD, AUSTRALIA, NZ.

SYDNEY, Australia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 31, 2006--Guy Carpenter & Company, Inc., the leading global risk and reinsurance specialist and a part of the Marsh & McLennan Companies (NYSE:MMC), today announced that John Carroll has joined the firm's Sydney office as Senior Vice President and Head of Broking, effective August 1.
In his new role, he will be responsible for the management of Guy Carpenter's regional broking team and overseeing client service across Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Carroll will report to Scott Grove, head of Guy Carpenter's Australian and New Zealand operations.

"His extensive insurance experience in the Australian and New Zealand markets will prove invaluable as we continue to strengthen our operations and build on our client service capabilities."
Prior to joining Guy Carpenter, Mr Carroll was Head of Swiss Re's Client Management team for Australia and New Zealand, where he began his career in 1991.
