Two SAMHSA Grants: On January 19 the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) announced the availability of fiscal year 2006 funds for two grant programs to be awarded by SAMHSA's Center for Substance Abuse Treatment:

1. Adolescent and Family Substance Abuse (No. TI-06-007): It is expected that $5.2 million will be available to fund up to 17 awards to provide services to adolescent substance abusers and their families. Grantees will be expected to utilize proven treatment protocols that include the Assertive Community Reinforcement Approach and Assertive Continuing Care.
