SIR: I notice that in the articles "The Madness of University Managerialism" by Malcolm Saunders (March 2006), and "Koestler, Orwell, and the Inversion of Logic" by Marta Feher (May 2006), the two authors, who are university academics, refer to a George Orwell novel, giving the title as 1984.
In fact the title of Orwell's superb satire on Soviet life is Nineteen ...
