Jul. 15--GREENTOWN -- The Howard County 4-H Fair went to the dogs Friday.

About 20 4-H'ers showed what they and their dogs had learned in months of obedience training during Friday's show.

Each 4-H'er and his or her dog entered the ring to be put through their paces, walking the dog at varied speeds, having the dog stay while the handler walks away, then come when called.

Later, the handlers and dogs stand in line for a long stay, in which the dog must sit down and stay while the handlers walk away for an extended time. That task is followed by...
