The rising number of female students was a continuing theme of the U.S. Education Department's 379-page report, "The Condition of Education 2006."

According to the report, women are outpacing men at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels and should continue to do so until 2015. Total enrollments for women and men will set new records for each year through 2015.
