Firms flee NHS purchasing scheme.

Two more construction firms have resigned from the list of supply chain partners working on ProCure21, the NHS's publicly- funded procurement framework.

In a statement, Carillion blamed its decision on "lower than predicted volumes and a disappointing distribution of work in the pipeline".

Wates Group has also left the programme.

Two further groups, Medicinq and Taylor Woodrow, have suspended their participation while they review their positions.

All four have said that they will deliver on schemes they have already committed to.
