Arlene Holzman, a 74-year-old grandmother from Symmes Township, Ohio, first heard about the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation 18 years ago. Since that time, she has given countless hours to help the foundation and other worthy causes in Hamilton County. An article entitled "Hometown Hero: Arlene Holzman" in the Cincinnati Enquirer for April 24 detailed some of this amazing woman's contributions. Week after week, Mrs. Holzman rises early to help out at the foundation; she recently rose at 5 a.m. in order to head up registration for the foundation's annual September walk.
