I'm a recent subscriber and I just read the recent articles (#108) mentioning Bose and our philosophy. I believe that what was written about Bose is correct. I've been designing transducers here at Bose for 17 years and have 36 years in the hi-fi business. Long before I came to work at Bose, I was amazed how little the sound changed at the opposite end of a room when I redirected the sound of small bookshelf speakers in different directions. On some recordings/music, it sounded better when not aimed at me. Then I measured the response and after adding some EQ to smooth the response, I had inadvertently simulated the Bose 901s' sound and I liked it. It was 19 years ...
