Am I wrong or are tire dealers changing?

Have I only been talking to the more enlightened dealers or are more and more dealerships de-emphasizing one-time deals and pushing for a more consistent pricing policy from their tire manufacturers and/or suppliers?

From the first of the year through mid-June I've been at various dealer meetings from Western Canada to Florida, from Minnesota to Texas and from California to Tennessee -- about a dozen in all.

Some were hosted by tire manufacturers or distributors and others were state and regional conventions of tire dealer associations.

And I've had many a meal and more than a few "refreshments" with tire …
