Ms. Neimark ("The Big Bird, the Big Lie, God, and Science," March/April 2006) appears to be a credulous believer rather than a skeptic. Her overriding theme was that the evidence was equivocal with regard to distant healing. Baloney. Only the poorly designed studies have lent equivocal results. Ms. Neimark and others make the a priori assumption that there is actually an effect of prayer; this is not a good, scientific approach.
