SN: Is this the year the Cardinals finally break through?

WARNER: I hope so. But I was pretty optimistic last year. I'm even more optimistic this year. We have all the pieces. It's just, do we put it together on Sunday and find ways to win games we've been losing?

SN: Is it true you lobbied for the team to sign Edgerrin James?

WARNER: I think anybody who knew anything about it lobbied for that. That was one of those no-brainers, to have a guy with that credibility who can do as many things as him. Not only does it generate excitement in your community, but it generates excitement within your team to have an organization that's willing to go out and make those moves, which is something they've been criticized for in the past.

SN: Your two starting receivers, Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin, had great numbers last year. How do they compare with your two receivers with the Rams. Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt?

WARNER: If you put the ball in position to catch it, they catch it. That was the same thing I had in ...
