SEOUL, July 3 Asia Pulse - South Korean stocks traded lower Monday morning as investor sentiment shrank on overnight losses in U.S. stocks after last week's surges.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) fell 3.34 points, or 0.26 per cent, to 1,291.81 as of 11:20 a.m.

The blue-chip KRX 100 index lost 8.27 points, or 0.31 per cent, to 2,679.12, and the tech-rich KOSDAQ index was down 1.18 points, or 0.20 per cent, at 589.50.

"Moving in a tight range, the main index fell slightly. Investor sentiment was hurt by overnight drops in U.S. stocks and last week's surges placed a burden on the market," said Park Seok-hyun, an analyst at Kyobo Securities Co.
